The given equations are:
a2x+b2y=c2 ... (1)
b2x+a2y=d2 ... (2)
Multiply (1) by b2 and (2) by a2, we get
a2b2x+b4y = b2c2
a2b2x+a4y = a2d2
Subtracting the above two equations,
(b4 - a4)y = b2c2 - a2d2
y = b2c2 - a2d2 / b4 - a4
Now, put this value of y in any of the two given equations to get the value of y.
