find the vector equation of the line passing through the point (1,2,-4) and perpendicular to the two lines : ( x-8)/3=(y+19)/-16 =(z-10)/7 and (x-15)/3=(y-29)/8=(z-5)/-5 ...i know its a bit too long but plz do help.

Yes, the method that you have done is correct and you will get full marks for it.
However, just note that there is a small error inone of your steps, though that does not change the answer -
Instead of 2(x-1)+3(x-2)+72(z+4)=0;it should be 2(x-1)+3(x-2)+6(z+4)=0;
