Expert Answer:
Dear Student,
(2p -5)(p-4) = (p+8)
2p2 - 13p + 20 = p + 8
2p2 - 14p + 12 = 0
p2 - 7p + 6 = 0
p2 - 6p - p + 6 = 0
p(p - 6) - 1(p - 6) = 0
(p - 6)(p - 1) = 0
p = 6 and p = 1,
These p values meet the condition.

2p2 - 13p + 20 = p + 8
2p2 - 14p + 12 = 0
p2 - 7p + 6 = 0
p2 - 6p - p + 6 = 0
p(p - 6) - 1(p - 6) = 0
(p - 6)(p - 1) = 0
p = 6 and p = 1,
These p values meet the condition.
