Let the ordinate of the point be y, then the point is (10, y).
Using distance formula,
D = [(x2 - x1)2 + (y2 - y1)2]1/2
D2 = [(x2 - x1)2 + (y2 - y1)2]
102 = (10 - 2)2 + (y - (-3))2
100 = 64 + (y + 3)2
(y + 3)2 = 36
y + 3 = ±6
y = 3 or -9
