CBSE Class 11-science Answered
Find the domain and range of the real function f defined by f(x)=|x-1|

Expert Answer
To find domain of the function let us first define the function
f(x) =|x-1|
= x-1 for x >1
= x-1 for x<1
In both the cases it is a linear function defined for x belongs to R.
So domain = R.
For x>1 as this function is linear increasing so maximum value approaches to infinity and as modulus function is always greater than or equal to zero.so range will be (0,?).
