Expert Answer:
For 64,
Subtract 1,7,19,37.. in a sequence
(1) 64-1=63
(2) 63-7=56
(3) 56-19=37
(4) 37-37=0 -- 4 steps
Therefore the cube root of 64 is '4'.
For 216,
Subtract 1,7,19,37.. in a sequence
(1) 216-1=215
(2) 215-7=208
(3) 208-19=189
(4) 189-37=152
(5) 152-61=91
(6) 91-91=0 -- 6 steps
Therefore the cube root of 216 is '6'.

- Solve: (-425)-(-125)-(-53)+90
- Observe the following pattern of sums of odd numbers: 1 = 1 = 13 3 + 5 = 8 = 23 7 + 9 + 11 = 27 = 33 13 + 15 + 17 + 19 = 64 = 43 21 + 23 + 25 + 27 + 29 = 125 = 53 Express the following numbers in the same pattern i) 73 ii) 83 iii) 93
- If 23-13 = 1 + 2 x 1 x 3 33-22 = 1 + 3 x 2 x 3 Find : i) 73 - 63 ii) 123 - 113
- Look at the following pattern:
