The total surface area of this cuboid will be = 2(lb + bh + lh)
Where 'h' is the height, 'b' is the breadth and 'l' is the length of the given box in the shape of cuboid.
l = 60 cm
b = 40 cm
h = 30 cm
2(lb + bh + lh)
= 2 [(60 x 40) + (40 x 30) + (60 x 30)]
= 2 (2400 + 1200 + 1800)
= 2(5400)
Total surface area = 10800 sq.cm
The cost of painting is 50 paisa per 20 sq.cm
So, the cost for painting the outer area of the box becomes
= 10800 x (50/20) paisa
= 27000 paisa
= Rs 270
