Find the angle of depression of a boat from the bridge at a horizontal distance of 25m from the bridge, if the height of the bridge is 25m.

Let BC be the height of the bridge. So, BC= 25 m
Let AB be the distance of the boat from the bridge. So, AB= 25 m
Now, in ∆ABC, we have ∠B = 90° and let ∠ACB = θ
∠ACB = ∠DAC = θ [ alternate angles]
Now, tan θ = AB / BC
tan θ = 25 / 25
tan θ = 1
tan θ = tan 45° [ tan 45° = 1]
θ = 45°
Hence, the angle of depression of the boat from the bridge is 45°.
