if f(X) gives a remainder a when divided by x-2 then f(X)-a will have x-2 as a factor or x=2 will satisfy it.
therefor, x cube + 3x squar - ax + 3-a will be satisfied by x=2
or 8+12-2a+3-a=0
or a=23/3
