x-1 exactly divide the given polynomial, so after dividing we get,

11-a+b=0

And this gives a= 11+b

And x-2 exactly divide the given polynomial, so after dividing we get,

18+4a-2b=0.

putting the value of a we get,

18+44+4b-2b= 0

62+2b=0

so, b= -31

and so a= 11-31= -20
