Vitamins A, D, E and K dissolve in fats and not in water. These vitamins are absorbed from the small intestine along with dietary fat. Fat-soluble vitamins are primarily stored in liver and adipose tissues. Fat-soluble vitamins are generally excreted more slowly than water-soluble vitamins.
