Expressing linear equation in one variable to linear equation in two variables

Answer : The form of linear equation is ax+by+c= 0, where a,b and c are real numbers, such that a and b are nonzeros. When we express this equation 5x=7 in two variables 5x+0y=7.
 
To find if Here a is 5 and b is zero. Isn't this against what we stated earlier? Can this be called a linear equation in two variable?
 
In the equation 5x + 0y = 7 defines that for every value of y , we get x =  7/5 , therefore it is defined to come in the linear equation in two variable :Answer
