Expert Answer:

Pressure = force/area.
During standing, we place our weight on both legs in general, and during walking, we place
our weight on one leg most of the time. Thus, the area on which our weight acts during walking is less than the area on which our weight acts during standing. So, we exert greater pressure during walking.
