At midday, the sun is overhead in the sky and the light coming from the sun travels a relatively shorter distance
through the atmosphere to reach the earth. Hence scattering of sunlight by atmosphere is less .
As the light coming from the overhead sun contains almost all its compont colours in the right proportion,
with minimum scattering, the sky appears white to us at midday.

Scattering of light inversely proportional to its fourth power of wavelength.
Hence scattering of red colour light is less compare to other colours and loss of intensity is minimum for red colour light.
Hence red colour is used in signals
