Expert Answer:
The concept of Garden City was developed by architect and planner Ebenezer Howard. He visualised it as a living space full of trees and plants, meant for residential and commercial purposes. He opined that such a locality would also produce a better citizenry. Following up on his ideas, Barry Parker and Raymond Unwin desgined the garden city of New Earswick. It had beautiful garden places, pictureseque sightseeing spots and other citizen friendly features. However, in the final analysis, only the well-off workers could afford these houses.
