There are 6 elementary operations(transformations) on a matrix,3 of which are due to rows and 3 due to columns,which are known as elementary operations.
They are helpful in finding the inverse of a matrix.
For eg: We find the inverse of a 2X2 matrix by using elemtary row transformation as:
