‘Globalisation’ and the ‘pressure of competition’ has changed the lives of workers in the following ways:

1. In order to earn maximum profits, MNCs employ Indian workers at extremely low wages. This has led to decline in their standard of living.

2. To deal with the pressure of completion from the MNCs, many Indian companies have begun to employ workers on temporary basis so that they do not have to pay the workers for all 12 months of a year.

3. Because the workers are employed on daily and temporary wages, no paid leaves, medical benefits and provident funds are given to them. Due to these reasons, organised sectors have come to resemble the unorganised sectors.

4. While companies make large profits, workers do not get their share of benefits. This is one of the major drawback of globalisation.
