Nerve impulses are carried to different parts of the body by the spinal nerves. Spinal nerves receive these signals from the brain via spinal cord. Nerve impulses to and from different parts of the body below the part of the injury of the spinal cord will not travel to the brain. As a result, the body will be paralyzed depending on site the injury of the spinal cord. Hence all the reflexes below the site of injury will either not work normally or stop.
