Dear student,
As the resistors are in parallel,
I = I1+I2+I3
Resistors 1 and 2 are always connected, only the last resistor R3 is connected through a switch.
WHen, key is open, I = 0.6 Meas I1 = 0.6/2 = 0.3A, I2 = 0.6/2 = 0.3A
Now. when the key is closed, as the resistors are identical R3 = 0.3A, Hence total current flowing will be 0.3+0.3+0.3
= 0.9 A
Hope this helps.
