Due to plasmolysis of guard cells at night, the stomatal pores close. In such a case how do plants respire at night?

Expert Answer:

During nightime, stomata still open but not as wide as during the daytime. The energy produced due to photosynthesis during the day is also used for respiration at night such as to open the stomata.
