Draw a line segment AB = 6.2 cm. Draw a perpendicular to it at a point M on AB by using ruler and compass.

Step-1 :- Draw the line AB of length 6.2 cm and mark a point M on it.
Using M as centre draw arcs of same length on the line at C and D as shwon in figure.
Step-2 :- Using C as centre draw an arc above the line so that the arc is drawn above the point M.
Similarly draw an arc using D as centre so that this arc length is same as the arc length drawn from C.
Make sure both the arcs meet at N.
Step-3 :- from N draw the perpendicular line NM using ruler as shown in figure.
