Median is given by,

Median = l + [((n/2) - cf)/f] x h

n/2 = (5+x+20+15+y+5)/2

60/2 = (5+x+20+15+y+5)/2

x + y = 15        .............(1)

Median is 28.5, hence the median class is, 20-30.

Using the formula for median,

28.5 = 20 + [30 - (5+x)](10)/(20) 

8.5 =  [30 - (5+x)](10)/(20)

17 = 30 - (5+x)

x = 8

and from (1),

y = 7
