In physics, spped and velocity are two different thing.
Speed is defined as the ratio of the distance travelled by abody to the time taken to do so.
And Velocity is defined as the ratio of the displacement to the time for the displacement.
Speed is a scalar while velocity is a vector quantity because it both magnitude and direction.
