Each corner of a square has a quadratnt of 1 cm radius, and four corner will have four quadrant.
That the area of a circle with radius 1 cm. Also there is circle of diameter 2 cm or radius 1 cm.
So area of shaded or remaining portion = Area of square - 2xArea of circle of radius 1 cm.
= 16 - 2π(1)2
= 9.72 cm2
