Expert Answer
Presbyopia arises due to gradual weakening of the Ciliary muscles and reducing flexibility of the eye lens.
This mainly occurs due to ageing.
However, it can occur before the age of 40. It is called premature presbyopia.
The reasons for premature presbyopia could be:
1) If you already have hypermetropia and you are wearing corrective glasses or contact lenses.
2) People who have a job that requires a lot of close-up work like sitting with computers for whole day.
