There is a rich diversity with respect to plants on the Earth. The diverse forms of plants can be studied effectively by studying the characteristics of these plants. Grouping or classification of plants based on a similar set of characteristics or based on their differences or based on features that are unique to a particular species makes the study effective. Such classification not only allows us to understand the vast biodiversity but also makes the study of these plants easier.

• Memorising the characteristic features of all plant divisions could be made easy if you arrange the data systematically.
• Tabulate the different divisions and their sub-divisions based on their common features such as habitat, body structure, mode of reproduction etc.
• Compare the characteristics of different divisions on the basis of these features so that the underlying differences or similarities will make it easy to for you to remember the characteristics of all the divisions or sub-divisions.
