Expert Answer
Centre of gravity of a body is defined as the point where the whole weight of the body acts and total gravitational torque on the body is zero, while, centre of mass is the point where the mass is supposed to be concentrated. For ordinary bodies, the centre of mass coincides with centre of gravity. However, for a body of large dimension that have different value of 'g' for its different parts, centre of mass of the body may not coincide with centre of gravity. At a gravity-free place, centre of gravity makes no sense, whereas, centre of mass has still a meaning.
