Direction of electric current

Dear Student,

You are right in saying that there aren't any charges moving opposite to electron flow. But the real story is that when the direction of current flow was decided by the scientists at that point of time electrons were not discovered. Thus they took flow of positive charge as the direction of current and from then it became a convention. The convention is standard and is still followed everywhere.

Hope this helps.
