ICSE Class 8 Answered
differentitate between
1)atmospheric pressure and liquid pressure

Expert Answer
both are gravitational force of fluid column on area of 1 square metre. Atmospheric pressure is due to air present in the atmosphere. Liquid pressure at a point is due to the weight(gravitational force ) of liquid column of cross section of one square metre area.
the formula for pressure p is p=ρgh, where ρ is density of air/liquid, g is acceleration due to gravity and h is height of air/liquid column.
