Differentiate between yellow and white fibres?

White fibres are made up of collagen whereas yellow fibres are made up of elastin. White fibres are white and shining, whereas yellow fibres are yellow in color. White fibres are strong and tough. Yellow fibres are not as strong. White fibres and inextensile whereas yellow fibres are more elastic.
White fibres are found mainly in ligaments and tendons and the covering of bones and cartilage. Yellow fibres are found in the walls of bloodvessels and air-tubes, and unites the cartilages of the larynx. It also forms bands between some of the vertebrae.
