Differentiate between tidal energy and wave energy.

Expert Answer:
Tidal energy depends on the occurrence of tides due to the gravitational pull of the earth and moon.
The movement of the tide, therefore, can be predicted well in advance.
Tide also depends on the alignment of sun and moon with earth
Wave energy depends on the occurrence of waves due to the flow of wind.
The flow of wind cannot be predicted as good as the tides.
No two waves are of the same type.
