Expert Answer
Dear student,
Electrical resistance is given by the formula
where
- ℓ is the length (in units of meters)
- A is the cross sectional area (in units of m2), and
- ρ is the resistivity (in units of Ω·m) of the material
So resistivity is a characteristic of every material while resistance is the opposition offered by that material when in an electrically conductive circuit.
I means the same thing. RESISTIVITY is a name applied to material conductivity . RESISTANCE is the material property
Hope this helps.
