Differentiate between electic potential and electric potential energy.

lets look at two points inan electric circuit . At one point electric potential is 3 volts and on the other point it is 2 volts  . electric potential energy at 3 volt is the amount of energy that electric charge would lose if it went from that point to the ground(which is zero volts). which would be one and a half times more than the energylost if the same amount of electric charge went from 2volt point to the ground.
electric potential is measured in volts whereas electric potential energy is measured in joules.
