Differences between pepsin and trypsin:

Pepsin

Trypsin

  • It is secreted in the stomach.
  • It is secreted in the small intestine.
  • It is situated in gastric glands.
  • It is situated in pancreas.
  • It acts only in acidic medium.
  • It acts in an alkaline medium.
  • It hydrolyses proteins into proteoses and peptones.
  • Along with chymotrypsin and carboxypeptidase, it acts on partially digested proteins in the stomach and converts them into dipeptides
