Ethanol and acetone can be individually purified by simple distillation method.

Ethanol has B.P. of about 64. 7oC and acetone has B.P. of 56.5oC. Since the difference in boiling points of ethanol and acetone is less than 25 oC, fractional distillation method can be used to separate them
