Define Average speed and Average velocity.

Average Speed- It is defined as the total path length travelled divided by the total time interval during which the motion has taken place.
Average Speed =
Average Velocity- It is defined as the change in position or displacement (?x) divided by the time intervals (?t) in which the displacement occur.
Average Velocity =
In general average speed is not equal to the magnitude of the average velocity.
