CBSE Class 9 Answered

dear sir/ma'am, you say that two objects strike the ground at the same time in free fall irrespective of their masses. but if we drop a paper and a pen then the paper takes more time to touch the ground than the paper. Why?

This is because these objects are not falling under the sole influence of gravity (free fall) but under the dual influence of gravity and air resistance. The air resistance is more in case of a paper and less in case of a pen. So, pen reaches the ground firsrt.
