Dear Sir,
In Q 5 of exercise 7.4, when we take C as the origin, the triangle PQR must lie in 3rd quadrant having its coordinates as (-x,-y) whereas in the textbook solution they are taken as (x,y) as if they all lie in first quadrant. Kindly elaborate.

Yeah, you are right. When we will take C as the origin, then the triangle PQR will lie in third quadrant and hence, all of its x and y coordinates should be negative. It seems like the answer in the NCERT is wrong probably. However, please note that the answer for the area would not change by doing so.
