Dear Children.......................divine purpose.
a) Which group of Children is being Adressed here?
b) Examine the nature of happy lives mentioned by the author?
c) In your Opinion, what were the real reasons for dissuading these children from reading?
Plz provide a VERY SHORT ANSWER for these question, I need the answerss for my Assignment.

a) The group of children being referred to here are women and girls.
b) The nature of happiness mentioned by author here was that women and girls were actually born to be mothers as that was their divine purpose. Therefore, they should fulfil their goal and not indulge in reading novels which would have immoral effects on them/ruin their lives.
c) In my opinion, the real reasons as to why women and girls were dissuaded from reading because people were worried about the effects the novels might have on them. This was because people of those times thought that girls were born and brought up only to get married and do the household stuff. Also, if they would have been educated enough to read novels, their mind-set would be totally different towards their life –taking control of their life and having the right to refuse or choose their partners and relationships. (The answer is opinion-based and thus it may vary from person to person).
