Conversion of galvanometer to ammeter and voltmeter..

Galvanometer can be converted into ammeter by putting a wire of low resistance (shunt) parallel to it and

Galvanometer can be converted into  a voltmeter by connecting a high resistance in series with it.

Current sensitivity = figure of merit x no. of divisions on galvanometer scale
