Plants respire in order to release energy from glucose and make it available in the form of ATP. They need to respire all the time in order to supply their energy needs. Plants respire aerobically using glycolysis, Krebs cycle, electron transfer and terminal oxidation.Oxygen is utilised in respiration whereas water and carbon dioxide are given out as byproducts. Respiration occurs in mitochondria and cytoplasm of all the living plant cells. Respiration is a catabolic process occuring continuously in plants
