Insulin
Pancreas
Insulin decreases the blood glucose level.
The pancreas acts as an exocrine gland by producing pancreatic juice which empties into the small intestine via a duct.
Pancreatic juice contains sodium bicarbonate and digestive enzymes. Digestive enzymes include amylase, trypsin, chymotrypsin and lipase, and pancreatic amylase. Pancreatic amylase digests starch to maltose. Trypsin and Chymotrypsin digest proteins to peptides. Lipase digests fats to fatty acids and glycerol.
