The amount of urine produced depends on :

i) Secretion of an antidiuretic hormone, called vasopressin. It is released from the pituitary gland and regulates the amount of urine produced.

ii) The Juxta glomerular apparatus. It also plays an important role in this regard by releasing renin.

In addition the amount of urine produced depends on the amount of water intake, the climatic conditions, physical activity involved etc.
