step 1 : draw a straight line

step 2 : open a compass and place it on 1 corner of the line and draw an arc on one side n then on the other side of the line.

step 3 : without increasing or decreasing the size of the compass place it on another corner of the line n cut the previous arcs on both sides. The point where they are cutting each other join them. The 90 degrees angle is there now.
