Consider the reaction, 2A+B Products, When concentration of B alone was doubled, the half-life did not change. When the concentration of A alone was doubled, the rate increased by two times. The unit of rate constant for this reaction is

b) No units

c) mol /L s

Expert Answer:

When concentration of B was doubled the half life did not change so the reaction is of first order with respect to B. When concentration of A was doubled the rate of reaction is doubled implies that reaction is of first order with respect to A.
So overall order of reaction = 1 + 1 = 2.
So unit of rate constant is L/mol s.
