consider 3 boxes held together. The 1st box is of mass 4 kg , the 2nd box is of mass 8 kg, and the third box is of mass 12 kg. If a force of 6N is exerted on the 1st box, then what is acceleration produced in all the 3 boxes individually and the force acted upon them individually?

Expert Answer:
Dear student,
Since the total mass in motion is 14 kg, and the force applied is 6N, the acceleration of the masses is F/m = 6/14 = 0.43m/s^2
If 8 kg mass is moving with acceleration , thne the force acting on it will be:
f= ma
f =8X0.43 = 3.44m/s^2
If 12 kg mass is moving with acceleration , thne the force acting on it will be:
f=12X0.43 =5.16m/s^2
Hope this helps.
Thanking you
