confusion regarding formulae for resistance

The two formula for R are to be used according to the given conditions.If in any circuit the voltage(V) is constant , then P will be inversely propertional to R(from P=V2/R) whereas if the Current (I) is constant is the circuit then P will be directly proportional to R(from P = I2R).
