Cold food does not smell from a distance why?

In case of a food which is at the moderate or medium level, the rate of evaporation from the food is very low due to its low temperature.
So, to get the smell of the food, we will have to go near it.
Hot food increases the temperature of the air around it and hot air spreads faster and spreads more as compared to cold air, so the smell of hot food comes faster than cold food hence cold food does not smell from a distance
