m = 1 g = 10-3 kg
and speed of light, c = 3 x 108 m/s
Thus, according to Eistein's mass-energy relation,
E = mc2
E = 10-3 x (3 x 108)2
E = 9 x 1013 J
Thus, energy equivalent to substance of mass 1 g is 9 x 1013 J
