Circuit!!

The circuit diagram is shown below, rectangular boxes are used to symbolizes resistances.
4 and 2 Ω must be connected in series so as to give 6 Ω, which when connected in parallel with 6Ω gives equivalent resistance of 3Ω.
So the electric current drawn would be 6V/3Ω = 2 A, which divides equally in two branches and in one branch ammeter measures it be 1A. Also with 1A current flowing through 4Ω, gives a potential drop of 4V, which is measured by the voltmeter.
